FOUR WAYS TO WORK THE ARCADE
MORE WAYS TO DRAW PLAYERS
A strong arcade mix has to do more than fill the floor. It needs games that attract attention, equipment that keeps earning, and experiences that give guests a reason to play again. These four finds tackle those goals from very different angles.
BIG IMPACT, LESS FLOOR SPACE Arcade floor space is valuable, and Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix have introduced a more compact way to bring Top Gun: Maverick to the game room.
GIVE THE CRANE MORE DRAW
Crane games are already familiar territory in the arcade, so getting guests to notice one more machine can come down to how much attention it creates on the floor. One option that recently caught IBI’s attention is USA Lightning’s Prize Genie, which adds a 3D hologram display to the traditional prize-crane format. The visual element is intended to help the game stand out and draw
The new Standard Edition offers the same gameplay as the larger Deluxe model, but in a smaller cabinet with dual 55-inch displays. Players use throttle and flight-stick controls to race through six missions, battle targets, and compete for high scores.
Up to four units can be linked for multiplayer competition, while the cockpit-style design and LED effects help give the attraction visual presence without requiring the larger Deluxe footprint.
players in before the prize play even begins. USA Lightning also shared that one bowling operator ordered a second unit just five days after installing the first at another location. For centers looking to refresh the crane mix, it offers a different take on a category guests already understand. WHY IT STANDS OUT: Adds a high-visibility display to a familiar crane format to help attract attention on the arcade floor. A REASON TO PLAY AGAIN Licensed arcade games can grab attention quickly, but keeping players interested beyond the first round takes more than a recognizable name. John Wick: Continental Pursuit recently caught IBI’s attention as a newly available licensed arcade game that pairs a recognizable action franchise with branching gameplay designed to make each playthrough feel a little different.
WHY IT STANDS OUT: Gives operators a new, more space-conscious way to add the Top Gun: Maverick experience.
KEEP CRANES EARNING A crane that’s out of service over one small part isn’t earning anything, and waiting for a replacement can turn a simple repair into unnecessary downtime.
IBI recently spotted a limited- time offer from Pipeline Games that gives operators one set of two electronic coin mechs at no charge, with a $17.95 flat shipping fee. The mechs are designed to fit most newer crane machines, including mini cranes. That gives operators one part to put into service when needed and another to keep on the shelf for the next repair. For centers still operating coin-based cranes, having a backup ready can make a small maintenance issue much easier to handle.
Players move through missions in New York, Miami, and Guanajuato, with branching gameplay that changes based on performance. That variation gives the familiar movie license added replay value and players a reason to come back for another round. WHY IT STANDS OUT: Combines a recognizable entertainment franchise with branching gameplay designed to encourage repeat play.
WHY IT STANDS OUT: Gives operators an inexpensive way to keep a spare coin mech on hand and reduce avoidable crane downtime.
